A man charged over alleged animal cruelty in Cecil Hills

Today, Thursday, January 24, 2019, a 19-year-old man was in a Richard Crescent home, Cecil Hills, when he allegedly injured three dogs, including a German Shepherd and two Fox Terriers.

The police alleged that he hit the dogs with a shovel.

When other residents of the house arrived, a fight ensued when it was discovered that the dogs had been injured.

During the argument, the man allegedly threatened his 39-year-old mother with the shovel.

The police were called and attended the scene.

The dogs were taken to a veterinarian, but the German shepherd died as a result of serious injuries.

The 19-year-old man was taken to the Liverpool Police Station where he was charged with beating, causing death of animal and common assault.

He was denied bail on his appearance in the local Liverpool court tomorrow friday 25 January 2019.
