According to authorities, the mother of a newborn who was found dead at an Amazon warehouse last week has been arrested.
The newborn was beyond resuscitation when first responders arrived, the baby girl appeared to be close to full term, police said.
Samantha Vivier, 22, faces charges of unlawful disposal of human remains after police were called to the facility on Jan. 16.
Vivier claimed that she was worried after giving birth and concealed the baby in the trash can to keep it from being found by her father.
The incident occurred when the newborn was discovered by a member of the janitorial staff who then called Amazon medical team. They found the baby to be unresponsive.
