A man will face court today charged over the alleged sexual assault of a young girl in Sydney’s south west

Detectives from the Sexual Abuse and Sexual Crime Unit of the State-organized Crime Crime Command opened an investigation on Sunday (January 20th) after receiving reports that a 14-year-old girl was assaulted sexually by a stranger earlier in the day.

With the help of interpreters, the investigators spoke with a 31-year-old man from a Macquarie Street, Liverpool, business, before executing a crime scene warrant.

Yesterday, around 18h, the Australian Federal Police warned the investigators that the man was at Sydney International Airport and was trying to board a plane bound for Singapore.

The man was arrested and taken to the Mascot police station, where he was charged with two counts of intentional sexual contact with children under 16 and three counts of a serious sexual assault victim under the age of 16. years.

The police alleged before the court that the man approached the girl and offered her divination services before sexually assaulting her at the company's premises.

The man, was denied bail today (Tuesday, January 22, 2019).
