Bluegrass musician enters not guilty plea in the murder of his mother and brother

An Ohio bluegrass musician, accused of shooting his mother and brother had pleaded not guilty by cause of insanity.

Police states that 26-year-old Jacob Stockdale shot himself in the head but survived on June 15, 2017 the day of the incident. They found him wounded in the head with the bodies of his mother Kathryn Barbare Stockdale, 54, and his 21-year-old brother James William Stockdale.

the suspect's lawyer filed a not guilty plea motion by reason of insanity and requested the court to appoint a proper mental evaluation.

Stockdale faces charges of two counts of manslaughter with a firearm specification.

He appeared on an episode of the ABC show Wife Swap with his father and his brother James in 2008.
