The sergeant in the northwestern urban area was reportedly attacked by two men aged 52 and 58, and a 49-year-old woman allegedly assaulted a 55-year-old woman in an accident at Catherine Hill Bay in the early hours of Tuesday, 1 January 2019.
Officers from the Lake Macquarie Police District were present and an investigation was opened.
As a result of investigations, the officer was served with a Future Court Attendance Notice for two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm yesterday.
The woman received notice of the presence of the future court for the offense of assault causing actual bodily harm.
Both are scheduled to appear in Belmont Local Court on Monday, March 18, 2019.
