A 24-year-old man was sentenced Tuesday to four years in prison for stabbing three Marines with whom he was engaged in a fight in the parking lot of a bar in San Clemente over the weekend.
Alexis Moreno Aguirre pleaded guilty Monday to felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm. A third felony assault charge and sentencing enhancements for causing great bodily injury were dismissed.
The fight broke out shortly after 1 a.m. in the 200 block of El Camino Real.
The three Marines two aged 21, the other a 23-year-old — became involved in an altercation with two men and a woman in the parking lot, Blashaw said. During the altercation, Aguirre pulled out a knife and stabbed all three Marines.
Details about what led to the fight were not released.
The Marines were back to the 1st Marine Division a few days after the altercation after being treated in the base.
