A man charged over the possession of alleged child abuse material at Taree

In December 2018, police were alerted to the alleged online activities of a Taree man.

After an investigation, officers from the Manning Great Lakes Police District arrested a 21-year-old man in a shop in Taree on Tuesday, January 5, 2019.

After his arrest, a search warrant was executed in a small street house in Taree, where police found and confiscated a similar gun.

Police also confiscated many setbacks and NSW Police items, including a leather jacket and badges.

During the subsequent search of the man's cell phone, the police found hundreds of suspected children.

He was transferred to the Taree Police Station where he was charged with the following acts:

- possession of child pornography (two counts);

- Use of the transport service to access child pornography.

Possession of a prohibited weapon;

- no police officer / special police officer in police uniform;

- Possession of an unauthorized firearm.

Originally, the man was released on bail, but the man was arrested again yesterday (Thursday, January 17, 2019) after reviewing his phone.

He was also charged with using a child under the age of 14 to make child pornography. And the use of children over 14 to make child pornography. He was released on bail from the local Forrester Court today (Friday, January 18, 2019).
