On Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at approximately 5:30 pm, the Criminal Groups Squad’s Strike Force Raptor Highway Patrol stopped a Nissan Patrol on Hamilton Street, South Wentworthville, over a faulty rear brake light.

The driver, a 26-year-old man, was talking and driving with an expired license.

During the search of the car, a loaded pistol and a hunting knife were seized. The firearm will be subjected to ballistic tests.

The 26-year-old man was arrested and taken to the Granville Police Station.

He had been charged with a license that had expired less than two years ago, failed to inform the authority to change the address of the residence, possession of an unauthorized firearm, possession of ammunition without a permit, and guard the knife in a public place.

The man has been released on bail and is scheduled to appear in Fairfield City Court today.
