A suspect wielding a hammer had attacked a restaurant in Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn, on Tuesday night.
The 34-year-old man entered the restaurant at about 5 p.m. and fatally attacked three men with the weapon.
Police said a 34-year-old man has died after the attack. While two others, a 61-year-old and 50-year-old are still in serious condition.
The suspect was caught near the crime scene by police. The hammer used in the attack has been recovered.
Authorities didn't reveal the charges that the attacker will face. His motive for the assault is still being investigated but the incident is believed to be unprovoked. The attacker is reportedly being questioned by officials.
