Two residents of a Michigan recovery home were arrested after allegedly using heroin to poison a manager at the facility.

Shanna Marie Kota, 40, and Sarah Elaine Prange, 22, both of Port Huron, were arrested and are being housed in St. Clair County jail after Port Huron road patrol officers and detectives investigated.

The incident happened around 9 p.m. Sunday at a recovery house in the 1200 block of Lapeer Avenue, police said.

The 38-year-old female victim who resides with the two suspects is the manager of the recovery house and heard rumors that she had been poisoned by Kota and Prange, according to authorities. She said the women poisoned her because they didn't want her to work there anymore.

The manager received treatment at McLaren Port Huron Hospital where tests found evidence of poisoning.

Kota and Prange, who are due back in court Jan. 29, are being held on a $100,000 bond.
