Several people Saturday injured following A powerful explosion and fire at a Paris bakery

According to the police, on Saturday, a powerful explosion and a fire apparently caused by a gas leak in a Parisian bakery. Several people were injured.

Firefighters shot through the windows and evacuated the residents, while smoke escaped from the building on rue Treviso, in the ninth arrondissement of Paris, north of Paris. Witnesses described French television as the sound of the explosion and prisoners in neighboring buildings.

Firefighters with silver helmets and firefighters invaded the streets and inspected nearby yards. Debris from a burned car and broken glass, threw dust on the sidewalk. A GRDF vehicle was parked nearby.

A spokeswoman for the Paris police said many of the wounded had been reported to the police, but no deaths were reported. The spokesperson, who was not authorized by her official name, gave no other details.

The building is located at the corner of the Folies-Bergere theater and not far from the famous Galeries Lafayette shopping area.
