A bus crash that left seven people dead in the eastern part of Cuba

According to media reports, Cuban officials were investigating the cause of a bus crash that killed seven people in the east of the country.

A bus left Baracoa to go to Guantánamo on Thursday afternoon, after capsizing in a mountainous area with winding roads.

Of the 40 passengers, 18 were Cubans and the rest were tourists from other countries. Three Cuban radio stations, two Argentine, one German and one French were killed, according to the public radio.

Officials worked to identify the dead.

According to official media reports, 33 injured passengers reportedly arrived at the Guantánamo Bay Hospital for treatment.
