A Baton Rouge man was fatally shot Thursday morning in the 4400 block of Evangeline Street, Baton Rouge police said.
The shooting was reported around 10:20 a.m. on Evangeline Street near Beechwood Drive. Police say 32-year-old Michael Richard was found dead at the scene. Investigators believe he was shot while sitting inside his car.
Family members and neighbors crowded around the crime scene tape, anxiously waiting to learn the identity of the victim while investigators examined the scene.
