A man charged with 15 offences including assault police in the state’s Hunter Region.

On Friday, January 11, 2019, the police attempted to prevent an unmarked motorcycle from rolling on the Cessnock Road in Aberdare.

The police claimed that the motorcycle driver had not accelerated or advanced before reaching the front of a police car and escaped.

The man was arrested after a foot pursuit, where he assaulted two policemen.

OC spray was used during the arrest.

Two senior male officers were slightly injured in the upper body and were treated.

He was taken to Maitland Hospital for treatment before being transferred to the Sisnock Police Station.

A 38-year-old man is charged with using a Class A car and registering without registration on the road, an uninsured vehicle without a license, driving recklessly / ruthlessly or dangerously into an unregulated location and preventing the police officer from performing his duties (X3), using a weapon of aggression to prevent legal detention (x2), assaulting a police officer because of his physical injuries (x2), taking care of the offense, taking and driving a vehicle without the owner's consent, and not stopping the vehicle on demand.

He appeared in court today and was denied bail on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 in Sisnok District Court.
