Man died after being punched in South Philly while walking dog.

A Pennsylvania man who was taking a walk with his fiancée and their dog died after getting punched in a local park on Saturday.

38-year-old Drew Justice had been walking his dog with his fiancee in Gold Star Park, near Wharton and South Marshall streets, around 9 p.m. Saturday when Justice asked another man to leash his dog, who was running free, the other man became angry and punched Justice in the face. Justice fell backward and hit his head on the sidewalk.

On Tuesday, the Philadelphia Medical Examiner’s Office said the death of 38-year-old Drew Justice was a homicide. Justice, who lived across the street from Gold Star Park, died from a “blunt impact trauma injury to the head."

police identified the suspect as 24-year-old Matthew Thomas Oropeza after turning himself to police Thursday afternoon and was scheduled for arraignment later today.
