In a news conference on Saturday afternoon, Pittsylvania County Sheriff Mike Taylor gave new details about the alleged murder-suicide that occurred Friday night when a father shot his wife and 12-year-old son to death before killing himself inside their along Shula Drive in Hurt.
Taylor identified the father as Jason Owen Davis, 44, his wife as 42-year-old Twana Rhodes Davis and the child with the initials RKD.
The investigation showed that multiple gunshots were fired inside and outside the house as the suspected father fired at two other women who tried to flee the scene using their vehicle.
The two women were identified as the mother of the slain wife and her aunt. They were both hospitalized after sustaining serious injuries.
