was inside with a few children when the victim rushed in, followed by the suspect. The woman told the instructor that he was trying to kidnap her and that’s when the instructor took matters into his own hands.

The instructor defended himself from the man, who continued to force his way inside.

When police arrived at the scene, the suspect also tried to assault them, according to reports.

the suspect was taken from the scene on a stretcher and brought to a hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Police said Williams was on drugs at the time of the assault. He has been arrested multiple times in the past for drugs and assault.

“It’s a great thing the people in there were able to help defend her, extremely lucky that it was a karate studio and usually you don’t see a suspect act like this,” Capt. JD Thomas, with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, said.
