Essex Police have confirmed the body of the man who went missing two days before Christmas from a fishing lake.

police discovered the body of 28-year-old Jack Morrad at 11.30am on January 3, 12 days after his disappearance.

Essex Police said night fishermen had reported hearing a man in the area of the lake in Gloucester Park at around 2 am on December 23.

An operation to drain millions of gallons of water from the lake began on Wednesday.

Mr. Morrad, from Essex, vanished at about 2 am on December 23 after a night out with friends following a West Ham football match.
