After the opening of an investigation by Riverna police into sexual crimes allegedly committed against a 17-year-old student, a high school teacher was charged with alleged sexual assault of a student from the Riverna area.
On Wednesday, January 2, 2018, and after interrogations, the investigators went to a house in Cootamondra and arrested a 41-year-old man before 8:30.
The teacher was taken to the Cootamondra police station where he was charged with three sexual offenses with a child aged 17 to 18 receiving special attention.
The Cootamundra professor was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in Cootamundra local court on Monday, February 4, 2019.
