A nail salon owner was fatally run over while chasing a fleeing customer who refused to pay $35 bill for manicure service.
Ngoc Nguyen, 51, was the manager of Crystal Nails where the suspect's credit card got declined before she suggested to get cash from her car in order to pay. Nguyen, her husband and the suspect went outside the salon, when the latter tried to drive away, run over the victim and dragged her. Nguyen suffered "multiple blunt force" injuries, and was pronounced dead one hour after the tragic incident. Her death was ruled a homicide.
The victim's husband Sonny Chung witnessed the events and tried to stop the car, "she ran off for $35 and killed my wife, $35 to run my wife over."
