Social media star Cameron Dallas was arrested for assault after punching a man in the face at a hotel in Aspen.
An ambulance was called to the Hyatt Residences Grand Aspen at about 5 a.m. Saturday where a man was bleeding from facial injuries, according to a statement from the Aspen Police Department.
the suspect was identified as Dallas, 24, he was then taken into custody Saturday night, and charged with second-degree assault.
he was later released on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on January 22.
Dallas first became famous on the now-defunct app Vine before gaining over 21.1 million Instagram followers. In 2016, he also starred in a Netflix docu-series, Chasing Cameron, about the young star’s life as a social media influencer.
he has confirmed his arrest in a tweet Monday.
"Unfortunately sometimes in life, you find yourself in a situation where you have to protect yourself and the people you care about," he wrote on Twitter alongside his mugshot. "Have a safe and happy new year, 2019 is going to be an amazing one."
