A Seattle man was booked for arson and assault after sitting a patrol car ablaze while two cops were inside last Thursday.
At about 1:30 p.m., the unidentified suspect approached the car that was parked in an alley while holding burning torches in both hands.
Seconds later, he threw the flaming wooden stick at the car and the huge fire started, officials mentioned.
The deputies were able to step out of the vehicle but one of them sustained non-life-threatening burns and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The arsonist was located in a nearby area where he exchanged fire with law enforcement. They were forced to use a taser on him after resisting arrest.
A woman who witnessed the incident recalled the suspect yelling “I’m gonna kill all you.”
“It was an incredibly dangerous situation for our officers,” Assistant Chief Deanna Nollette said.
