St. Louis news, Missouri news.

A beloved retired Missouri policeman has been gunned down by looters as he stood in front of jewelry and pawnshop during the first hours of Tuesday.

David Dorn, 77, was killed at around 2:30 a.m. near Lee’s Pawn & Jewelry off Martin Luther King Drive. The man used to check on the building owned by a friend of his.

The looters accused of killing Dorn have not been identified and no one is in custody in connection with the fatal shooting: “He was murdered by looters at a pawnshop. He was the type of brother that would’ve given his life to save them if he had to. Violence is not the answer, whether it’s a citizen or officer,” a relative said on social media.

A graphic video caught the gruesome incident but was immediately taken down by Facebook. Dorn had served the St. Louis community for 38 years.
