People are now aware of the importance of wearing a mask and covering their face to prevent the transmission of the coronavirus within communities. But a new study has found that most cases have been recorded within family members.

The CDC has urged Americans to wear masks in public when it is difficult to maintain social distancing. Now, Chinese scientists confirm that wearing a mask at a home where an infected person lives is 80 percent helpful and especially before developing symptoms.

The researchers added that even at “small, crowded” homes, residents can stop the spread of the deadly bug by adopting this guideline: “The results suggest that community face mask use is likely to be the most effective inside the household during severe epidemics.”
