Maryland news.

15-year-old Dar’yana Dyson had a fever and a stomach pain that seemed non-threatening to her mom who still took her to the hospital on May 11 to consult a doctor.

While hospitalized, the teen developed a rash that ravaged her entire body very quickly: “It was through her whole body, through her feet, hands, back and then it just disappeared,” the distraught mother, Kandace Knight recalls.

Dar’yana had tested positive for coronavirus antibodies and doctors linked her condition to the novel virus. She was placed on a ventilator but on Saturday, she passed away, only a few days after hospitalization.

“It happened so fast. I never thought that taking my daughter to the hospital for a stomach pain that I wouldn’t be walking out of there with her,” Knight said.
