Detroit news, Michigan news.

A Michigan nurse has been found dead Wednesday at her home days after she was denied coronavirus testing twice, according to her family and friends.

53-year-old Lisa Ewald was a healthcare employee at the Henry Ford Hospital and had told her nieces and a neighbor that she believed she contracted the novel virus while treating a post-surgery patient without wearing a mask. The patient later was found to be COVID-19 positive.

Neighbor Alexis Fernandez said that Ewald tried hard to get the test but was told her symptoms weren’t severe enough: “The fact that they wouldn’t test her, she was back and forth trying to get a test. She was sicker than a dog and it took forever to get the results. There she was sitting on the couch, gone, it was horrible.”
