Stuart news, Florida news.

A 38-year-old Florida woman has been arrested and jailed without bond after she live-streamed herself walking in streets and claiming that she was pretty sure she had the coronavirus.

Melissa Barton-Schmitt went to several stores in downtown Stuart as she told the viewers about her test results that would confirm her infection. She urged people to stay home if they wanted to remain safe.

Concerned residents called police and Barton-Schmitt became “agitated, began to cause a disturbance” and denied being ordered to self-quarantine. She was charged with disorderly conduct and violation of one of the governor’s emergency orders about the pandemic. Barton-Schmitt is being held in isolation.
