‘Armed and dangerous’ Kansas man still at large days after gunning down girlfriend, daughter

The search continues for a 25-year-old Kansas man accused of killing his girlfriend and their 8-year-old daughter Saturday evening inside the family house in Wichita, officials said.

In a statement, Capt. Jason Stephens confirmed that the lifeless bodies of Mickayla Sorell, 24, and her toddler, Natalia Lopez, were discovered on March 30 with severe bullet wounds by deputies during a welfare check that has been conducted after “Mickayla had not shown up for work that day.” The girl’s father, Daniel Lopez, was considered a person of interest in their deaths. At this time, the motive of the slaying was not yet provided.

The suspect is believed to be armed and dangerous. Meanwhile, authorities are asking people to not approach him; instead, they are urged to call 316-268-4407 or 316-267-2111.
