The body of a coronavirus victim remained with her toddler for at least 12 hours before it was finally discovered on Thursday.
The 42-year-old healthcare worker has displayed flu symptoms for nearly a week prior to her death and a friend told police that she declined to get the COVID-19 test. She has been reported missing by the friend and officers went to her home to check on her. Once there, they found her dead body next to a toddler, believed to be 4 or 5-year-old.
“Healthcare workers are on the front lines of fighting the virus and deserve the utmost respect and honor for doing their jobs,” authorities said.
It was believed that the lifeless body remained with the child for around 12 to 16 hours.
