Virginia woman, 63, succumbs to wounds after being viciously beaten at bus station

A Virginia woman, 63, died Saturday at a hospital succumbing to wounds she sustained after a vicious assault at an Alexandria bus stop a week earlier.

Fairfax County Police Department said that the victim was found by a passerby at a bus stop on the 7800 block of Richmond Highway suffering from trauma to her upper body.

Authorities later identified the woman as Michelle Huntley adding that investigators have no leads and did not yet name a suspect. An autopsy is scheduled at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

    “Detectives have reviewed hours of surveillance footage, conducted several interviews, and canvassed the surrounding area extensively to determine the circumstances that led up to the deadly assault,” the County Police Department said.

    “Victim specialists from our Major Crimes Bureau’s Victim Services Division have been assigned to ensure the victim’s family is receiving appropriate resources and assistance.”
