An Atlanta couple is behind bars facing child cruelty charges in connection with the lengthy, unjustified incarceration of a 6-year-old girl in a filthy room.
Tiphanie Lanier, 29, and Joseph Lipscomb, 35, have allegedly been detaining their 6 years old daughter alone in a filthy room from August to November, police said.
The room where the child was living was filled with trash, police added. The only other thing inside was a broken mattress topped with a 2-inch foam on which the girl could sleep.
The parents allegedly prevented the girl from playing or meeting with their other children. She was only let out overnight when everybody had gone to sleep.
Police did not reveal further information regarding this case. Lanier and Lipscomb are being held without bond.
