Authorities in Atlanta are actively looking for the suspect who stabbed a woman to death at a local park early Wednesday.
The unidentified woman, believed to be in her 40s, was attacked at Piedmont Park at around 1:10 a.m.
Police described a “gruesome scene” with the victim suffering numerous stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The case is still being actively investigated and I do not have any suspect information at this time,” a spokesman for Police said.
Atlanta Police Deputy Chief Charles Hampton said that more evidence would be recovered from the scene when the day breaks.
“The darkness is kind of hampering us right now. Once we get some more daylight, that will help shed some light.”
