First Lady bid farewell to Be best initiative on Instagram video

DC news, Washington news.

Days before leaving the White House, First Lady Melania Trump thanked everyone who helped her “Be Best” initiative and backed its work on an Instagram video.

“The goal of Be Best has been simple: teach youth about the importance of their well-being, both mentally and physically,” she said of the campaign launched in 2018.

“Over the past four years, I have heard from countless medical staff, educators, leaders in technology, and many more who have given a voice to these issues and helped provide innovative solutions and lifesaving resources.”

The First Lady boasted about succeeding to raise awareness on opioid abuse and addiction and reaching to lawmakers to pass legislation that would help struggling children and families.

“We expanded resources…on how to protect our children online and help them understand that their self-worth is not defined by social media,” she added.

“We gave a voice to vulnerable children in the foster care system, ensuring they had the support they needed to get through difficult stages in their lives.”

Melania concluded her farewell message by insisting that the work is not done.

“As the legacy of Be Best comes to a close at the White House, we must continue to give a voice to our nation’s children and the issues that impact their lives.”
