Operations in penitentiary institutions in the northwestern part of the state. Four people are charged.

Four people were charged during an operation targeting smugglers entering penitentiary facilities in Bathurst and Litjju.

The operation began on Saturday, December 29, 2018 and was completed on Sunday, December 30, 2018. Northwestern Police Transportation Command and Bathurst Task Force officers, as well as group correctional services security operations of NSW, conducted a joint operation over the weekend.

A 21-year-old man was charged with possession of a banned drug, knife-keeping and the use of unlicensed explosives.

A 19-year-old woman was charged with leadership threats, negligent driving, intentional damage and criminal harassment / intimidation. A conditional bond was granted to the Orange County Court on Tuesday, January 15, 2019.

Two other women have been informed of the presence of drugs banned by the court and are scheduled to appear in Bathrest Local Court on Monday, February 25, 2019.

In addition, preventive patrols in Lithgow and Bathurst were also conducted.
