An unidentified juvenile has been charged in Monday’s stabbing death of his sister and assault on his mother in West Hartford, the incident launched waves of concern from the community.
West Hartford police say they received a 911 call from 187 Stoner Drive from a woman saying she and her daughter had been stabbed by her son.
Police say when they arrived, they found the two victims and the suspect.
Police said the mother and daughter were rushed to St. Francis Hospital where the daughter was pronounced dead.
the boy was arraigned at Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford, where he was being treated for minor injuries sustained in Monday's incident.
the names of the boy and the victims haven't been released, but the mother injured in the stabbing was identified by her employer as Janemarie Murphy.
The boy faces one count of murder and one count of first-degree assault and is currently in the custody of the Connecticut Judicial Marshals.
