Tool Box killer dies in jail months after crime partner's death

The Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation announced the death of the second member of the “Tool Box Killers” in a Vacaville prison almost two months after his accomplice died.

72-year-old Roy Lewis Norris was declared dead of natural causes at the California Medical Facility. He was convicted of killing five girls in 1979 and was sentenced to 45 years behind bars for the horrific crimes. His 79-year-old partner, Lawrence Bittaker, who got a death sentence died on Dec. 13.

The men used ice picks, sledgehammer and vise grips to abuse, torture and kill Lucinda Schaefer, Jacqueline Lamp, Jackie Gilliam, Andrea Hall and Shirley Ledford whose ages range from 13 to 18-year-old after taking them unwillingly to San Gabriel Mountains.
