New Jersey police announced the arrest of a 22-year-old woman after she stabbed her mother to death amid a heated altercation on Feb. 16.
Malika Jones is facing several charges including first-degree murder related to the fatal stabbing of Inell Jones, 57, whose lifeless body was found at a house in Union County at about 3 p.m. Deputies arrested her daughter without incident. She has sustained a cut on her wrist and her t-shirt was covered with blood, a police affidavit of probable cause mentioned.
According to a witness, the suspect and her mom were talking about Jones’ plans to return to college as well as her living arrangements before they got in a fight during which, Jones attacked her mother with a large kitchen knife.
She is expected to appear in court on Feb. 26.
