A 33-year-old Michigan man was taken into custody after a pregnant woman was found dead in her vehicle last month, police said.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, the body of Cassia Renee Duval, 29-year-old, who is 7 months pregnant, was found in her car that was located in a ditch on January 29. She has sustained at least one bullet wound.
After a massive investigation, relevant evidence linked James Isaac Jones Jr., who used to live with the victim in the same home, to her murder the sheriff’s office confirmed.
He is currently facing two counts of murder: one for Duval and a second for her unborn baby. He was transferred to the Wayne County Detention Center.
Duval, a manager for a Waffle House, was described as “an amazing person who has an impact everywhere she went.”
