A Chicago woman has killed herself after gunning down a retired state trooper and injuring two others on Friday night in a Lisle cigar lounge, police said in a news conference.

Trooper Gregory Rieves, 51, was fatally shot in the back of the head by Lisa V. McMullan, 51, as they sat in a lounge room. Two other police officers were shot at close range and sustained severe injuries: 48-year-old off-duty Trooper Kaiton Bullock and 55-year-old retired Special Agent Lloyd Graham. They were hospitalized and will be questioned after their recovery.

“I think he’s someone who was well-loved by all those who worked with him,” Illinois Police Director Brendan Kelly said of the victim.

The shooter killed herself following the unprovoked attack. She and Rieves attended the same high school in the 1980s.
