A San Jose orthopedic surgeon has been arrested on Wednesday days after she unsuccessfully tried to kidnap her 12-year-old son during a supervised visit.

55-year-old Theresa Colosi is awaiting extradition to Santa Barbara for charges of attempted murder and attempted kidnapping after the Sunday incident that occurred in the parking lot of Zodo's Bowling and Beyond at around 9:30 a.m. when police responded to an assault incident.

Upon their arrival, officers learned that the victim was a contractor providing court-ordered supervision between Colosi and her child. Colosi hit the victim with a metal object and tried to kidnap the child before fleeing the scene.

Prior to the incident, Colosi withdrew $900,000 from her bank account and chartered flights for herself, her son and her dog.
