A 27-year-old Washington woman is being prosecuted after the death of a 3-year-old girl who has been tortured to death for long months, according to authorities.
Kamee Dixon has been charged with second-degree murder following the death of Hazel Journey Homan on Nov. 30. The toddler suffered a cardiac arrest and was diagnosed with "shaken baby syndrome."
Autopsy results revealed that Hazel had been the victim of a longterm abuse with multiple broken bones in various levels of healing.
Hazel's future stepmother was arrested on Dec. 5. She had been caring for the toddler since June while her father was at work: "This is a tragic situation," Hazel's father said. "I just, more than anyone, I am the father. It's my baby girl, I want answers too. But don't place blame."
