A woman died and a man is injured after an accident in a Hyattsville home Monday around 12:30.
According to Prince George County police, the fatal accident occurred when a woman and her male passenger walked away from the police after being stopped on a dead end street on College Heights Drive.
Officials said the officer, who knew the street had no outlet, did not pursue. They said the woman had lost control of the vehicle and had snuck into a house before falling over the Steed Court intersection.
Police said the woman driving was declared dead at the scene. The passenger was transported with non-life-threatening injuries. No one inside the house was hurt.
