According to a statement, an officer assigned to the Essex County compound had been arrested and charged with rape and assault for serious offenses.
Officer Anthony Michael Westerman was arrested on Saturday. He is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center and his release on bail is denied.
Westerman joined the Baltimore County Police Department in 2013. Online court files did not mention a lawyer for the 25-year-old officer. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 3, according to online court records.
"This case was opened when Baltimore County police received information regarding the allegations."
The Maryland Forensic Search lists at least two incidents related to this case: one that occurred on June 8 and the other on October 4.
