Utah County news, Utah news.

A Utah child had fallen to his death from his dad's lap and was fatally hit by a snow removal truck on Friday morning, according to authorities.

Utah County Sheriff Sergeant. Spencer Cannon identified the 6-year-old as Herman Slaughter who had been riding a Kubota Skid Steer loader with his father and his 9-year-old brother as they removed snow and cleared a camp when he suddenly fell from his father's lap and was struck by the vehicle's arm.

The distraught father tried to perform CPR on the child but when paramedics arrived at the scene, they pronounced the boy dead as a result of his severe wounds.

"We don't think this was anything other than a tragic accident," Sergeant Cannon said.
