Birmingham news, Alabama news.

The Crimson Tide's quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will likely miss the remainder of the season after he suffered a dislocated right hip during the team's game against Mississippi State Saturday.

Tagovailoa was injured in the last minutes of the first half when he got tackled by two Mississippi State players. Reports said that the quarterback was screaming in pain as he was carried off the cart by the medical training staff. He was later flown by helicopter to St. Vincent's Medical Center.

"He is undergoing further testing to determine the best course of treatment," orthopedic surgeon Lyle Cain said. "He is expected to make a full recovery but will miss the remainder of the season."

Alabama ranked fifth in the College Football Playoff rankings behind LSU, Ohio State, Clemson, and Georgia.
