Colorado Springs news, Colorado news.

Police found 26 children - all under 3 years old behind a false wall in the Colorado Springs daycare. State authorities have suspended the licence of Play Mountain Place daycare.

The daycare's owner, Carla Faith, 58, is currently under investigation and three workers have been arrested. (The charges were canceled by detectives pending an ongoing investigation.)

Faith was not arrested "while the detectives pursue the appropriate charges," according to CBS Denver.

After a complaint about the number of children staying at Play Mountain Place, the Department of Human Services (DHS) asked the Colorado Springs police to participate in a welfare checkup at the facility Wednesday.

When the police arrived at the scene, they found no children inside. They tried to contact Faith at home.

After the incident, officers started working alongside DHS to pick up the children with their families.

The police have not yet identified the children or determined whether they were linked to Faith, who saw two of its facilities closed by the authorities in the late 1990s.
