A Kentucky Factory worker who put glass in cups used in restaurants has been sentenced to five years.

44-year-old Waylon J. Horton of Munfordville and a former employee of a container manufacturing plant located in Hart County, Kentucky, was pleaded guilty in July to tampering with consumer products.

he was sentenced in United States District Court in Bowling Green to 60 months imprisonment followed by 2 years of supervised release.

in 2016, Horton was charged for putting glass in cups on two separate occasions.

After the company received complaints, the manufacturing and distribution of Styrofoam cups were placed on hold, officials said. "Seven additional boxes containing Styrofoam cups with broken glass were ultimately found."

Horton pleaded guilty to tampering with consumer products on July 13, 2018.
