A 21-year-old Pasco County man has been arrested in connection with the death of a man whose body was found burned inside his car on Oct. 30.
Michael Psilakis Jr. was at first charged with theft of a firearm, resisting arrest and other charges before new evidence linked him to the murder of the unidentified man who was badly burned inside his 2018 Ford Taurus.
Investigators said that a witness came forward and related the events that led to the gruesome murder. According to that witness, Psilakis played a game of cards with the victim on Oct. 29 and lost $1,000 to him before asking for a second chance the next day. Once again, he lost $2,500 to the man.
Psilakis told the witness that he is considering shooting the man dead. His charges have been upgraded to premeditated murder.
