Authorities in Athol, Massachusetts are investigating after the discovery of a woman's body near a sewage treatment plant on Monday.
The woman who is believed to be in her 20s was described as white. She was found near the entrance of the wastewater treatment site early Monday morning. Authorities have described her death as "criminal in nature."
"It's crazy. I come down here all the time and have some beers with some friends but I never thought this would happen here ever," Missi LeClaire, a resident said.
The site is also located near a camp where numerous homeless men live, authorities said. The Mass. State Police along with the Athol Police Department are investigating the case.
