Special-needs boy, 7, in critical condition after falling out nine-story window

Police announced Saturday that a special-needs boy remains in a critical condition after he accidentally fell out the window of his family's nine-story apartment in the Bronx.

According to officials, the tragedy has taken place at the Bronx River Houses on Harrod Avenue near East 174th Street in the Soundview section at around 11 a.m when the 7-year-old child tumbled out of his bedroom window that had an air conditioner on it and eventually hit the pavement below.

Upon the paramedics' arrival, the unidentified victim was rushed to Lincoln Hospital suffering serious injuries in his entire body. His condition is listed as critical.

Authorities said that his relatives were home when he fell.
